At Foretaste Project, we envision a future where road construction is not only environmentally friendly but also cost-sensitive.
Foretaste Project is a startup that believes in innovation through nature. We've developed a product, Habema, a natural alternative to traditional bitumen.
Bitumen has long been the go-to binder for asphalt, but it's far from perfect. Derived from fossil fuels, it contributes heavily to carbon emissions and environmental degradation. It's also vulnerable to price volatility due to oil market fluctuations, and its production demands high energy inputs-Enter Habema.

Habema is our groundbreaking binder designed to replace bitumen in asphalt preparation, offering a truly sustainable path forward. Unlike other bitumen alternatives like lignin or cellulose, Habema can be sourced at scale without supply bottlenecks. Also, it's eco-friendly, while matching—or even exceeding—bitumen's performance across multiple metrics.

For centuries, roads have been defined by bitumen, a byproduct of crude oil. Dirty as it is, we've had to embrace it as a "necessary evil". With oil demand likely to plummet due to the electric vehicle revolution, bitumen prices could skyrocket, making road maintenance a luxury.

The transition to Habema could change everything. In the current world, countries without oil reserves have been at the mercy of global markets. In the Habema era, we are looking at Hyper-Localization: Imagine a landlocked nation in Sub-Saharan Africa being able to produce its own road binder from locally available resources. Developing n
The transition to Habema could change everything. In the current world, countries without oil reserves have been at the mercy of global markets. In the Habema era, we are looking at Hyper-Localization: Imagine a landlocked nation in Sub-Saharan Africa being able to produce its own road binder from locally available resources. Developing nations will be able to build more infrastructure for a fraction of the previous cost because the "glue" for their roads is available in their own fields, not imported in tankers.
